Kubernetes Security Training

Kubernetes Security Training

In the 4-day“Kubernetes Security” training course, you will learn how to systematically secure Kubernetes clusters, identify security risks at an early stage, and protect modern cloud-native workloads against common attack vectors. The course covers proven Kubernetes security best practices across infrastructure, networking, workloads, and software supply chains.
You will analyze Kubernetes environments holistically, identify misconfigurations, and implement concrete hardening measures. Working directly on your own Kubernetes test cluster, you will apply the concepts learned in realistic hands-on labs.
The curriculum follows the official Linux Foundation LFS460 syllabus and provides the ideal foundation for the Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification.

Your Benefits

  • Security: Learn how to operate Kubernetes clusters securely according to current best practices and avoid common security risks.
  • Immediate Practical Application: Apply what you learn directly to your own Kubernetes environments.
  • CKS Preparation: Build the technical foundation required for the Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification.
  • Practical Security Concepts: From Kubernetes hardening and RBAC to runtime security and secrets management.
  • Future-Proof Knowledge: Security is a critical prerequisite for the successful use of Kubernetes in production environments.

Why This Kubernetes Security Training?

Kubernetes offers enormous flexibility and scalability. At the same time, containerization, microservice architectures, and automated deployments expand the attack surface of modern IT environments. Misconfigurations in permissions, network communication, or container images are among the most common causes of security risks in production Kubernetes clusters.
In this training, you will learn how to systematically analyze Kubernetes environments, identify security vulnerabilities early, and implement proven security measures. Topics include Kubernetes hardening, access control with RBAC, network policies, secure software supply chains, and the use of runtime security tools.
The course focuses consistently on production Kubernetes environments and real-world operational challenges. The concepts taught are aligned with security requirements commonly found in enterprises, regulated industries, and critical infrastructure environments.

Who is this course for?

  • Platform Engineers & SREs who operate Kubernetes in production and want to establish sustainable security practices.
  • DevOps Engineers who are responsible for the security of cloud-native workloads within their teams.
  • Security Engineers looking to integrate container and Kubernetes security deeply into their processes and toolchains.
  • CKA Holders who want to take the next step toward the CKS certification. It's an ideal follow-up to our LFS458 course and CKA-certification.

Selected Learning Objectives

  • Harden and audit Kubernetes clusters according to CIS Benchmarks
  • Design granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) concepts and identify and remediate misconfigurations
  • Use Network Policies to reliably control traffic between pods
  • Scan container images for vulnerabilities and build a secure software supply chain
  • Detect and respond to runtime threats using Falco and Kubernetes audit logs
  • Apply AppArmor, Seccomp, and Pod Security Standards in production environments
  • Implement and secure secrets management according to industry best practices

Your Benefits at KubeOps Academy

We are not a generic training platform. We are Kubernetes specialists who work with real production Kubernetes environments every day. We bring this practical experience directly into the classroom.

Trainers with Real Project Experience
Our trainers come directly from real-world Kubernetes projects, including critical public sector infrastructures. We provide more than theoretical knowledge—we share hands-on expertise gained from production environments.

Small Groups for Individual Support
With a maximum class size of 10 participants, our trainers can focus on your individual requirements. Your specific questions receive detailed answers rather than generic references to presentation slides.

Hands-On Labs on Real Clusters
Every participant receives their own Kubernetes lab environment. Instead of focusing solely on theory, you will implement security measures yourself and gain practical experience.

Preparation for the CKS Exam
The course is aligned with the official Linux Foundation LFS460 curriculum and covers all relevant domains of the Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification.

CNCF-Certified Partner
As a CNCF Silver Member, Kubernetes Certified Service Provider (KCSP), and Kubernetes Training Partner (KTP), we meet the highest standards of Kubernetes expertise.

Ongoing Support & Community
Even after the course, we remain available to help with certification preparation and the practical application of the concepts learned.
